We read every bio in the catalog. Here is what they say.

The bio is the one piece of writing a creator fully controls, and it is the last thing you read before you decide. 177,996 of our 182,191 profiles have one.

They are shorter than you think

The median bio runs 322 characters. The average is 408, pulled up by a tail of very long ones.

322 characters is about two sentences. That is the whole pitch for most pages.

29,146 of them say "free"

16.4% of bios contain the word. Our catalog only has 62,051 genuinely free-to-join profiles, so the word is doing other work in a lot of these: free trial, free preview, free in the DMs, free if you tip.

Treat "free" in a bio as marketing copy and the price on the page as the fact. They disagree often.

17,162 point you somewhere else

Roughly one bio in ten contains a link or a domain: a link aggregator, a Telegram handle, another platform. Sometimes that is a legitimate content menu. Sometimes it is the actual business, and the OnlyFans page is a doorway.

Either way it is a signal worth reading. A bio that spends its two sentences sending you off the page is telling you where the value is.

4,195 have nothing

An empty bio is not automatically a dead page, but combined with zero likes it is the clearest "not really launched" signal in the data.

How we use bios on the site

Search reads them. When you type something into the search box that is not a name, the query runs against display names, usernames and bio text, which is why searching a city or a kink often works even though we do not have a tag for it.

We strip HTML out of bios before displaying them, so what you read on a profile page is the text without whatever formatting came along with it.
